    Ways To Conserve Hot Water

General Tips Save 15% of your home’s hot water use by taking showers instead of baths. Install low-flow shower heads. Turn your faucets all the way off. Replace worn out washers. Types of Renewable Energy

Geothermal Energy Geothermal energy can be captured from the heat stored beneath the earth’s surface or from the absorbed heat in the atmosphere and oceans. It is a renewable energy source because the water is replenished by rainfall and the heat is continuously produced inside the earth. It can be captured from naturally-occurring underground steams and used to produce electricity. Heating and cooling can also be achieved by taking advantage of the temperature differential between outside air and the ground or groundwater. Renewable Energy Renewable energy is energy from a natural resource that is a sustainable, meaning it can be naturally replenished or renewed within a human lifespan. Some natural…

These materials efficiently reflect a great deal of furnace heat back into the home, as well as letting in sunlight. During the summer time, these windows reduce heat gain into the home compared to non-ENERGY STAR or conventional windows. ENERGY STAR qualified windows are rated for 2 climate zones in Ontario. Make sure you pick the right one for your home’s location. You may…

Dishwashers An economy cycle feature uses less hot water – about 85% of a dishwasher’s electricity is used just to heat the water. Dryers A “perma press” cycle tumbles clothes in cooler air for the last few minutes, to reduce wrinkling and save energy. A time control helps avoid over-drying and energy waste. An electronic moisture or temperature sensor will automatically shut the dryer off when clothes are dry – a great energy saver! Electric Stoves Self-cleaning ovens can be up to 25% more efficient because they are usually better insulated than other models. When it comes to normal usage, the heat is distributed more evenly so less energy is…
